Sidestep The Game is a giant interactive board game played by 4 teams chosen from the audience and facilitated by The Lollipop lady, Amber Light, The Grand Umpa and Coach Captain. A mash up of ‘Snakes and Ladders’, ‘Trouble’ and ‘Double Dare’ with absurd road safety themes and unusual philosophy peppered throughout.

A  giant dice, coloured spots, pedestrian crossings, snaking roads, dance competitions, tug-o-wars, chase your tail, riddle guessing and lots of random absurdity and spectator antics.

There is choreography: the joyful movement of bodies through colourful spots, flashing lights, flags and obstacles – backwards and inverted at times.

There is a soundtrack: the brouhaha- ha of spectators and a hubbub of laughter and cheers, team songs and random whistles.

There are penalties, head starts, obstacles, bribery, favourites and rules that are complicated and change a lot, all overseen by The Grand Umpah.

There are rotten eggs, sore losers and some opportunities to cheat.

45 minutes of hilarious, high energy and chaotic fun for the whole family, where everyone’s a winner.
