POP UP PLAY SPACE
All-ages, fun & games in the park
Pop Up Play Space is a colourful games installation that completely takes over a park for a day. Race lanes, obstacle courses, oversized games, croquet, hopscotch, twister, musical chairs, dance competitions, cards, chess, noughts and crosses and much, much more.
Pop Up Play Space was one of the winning tenders of The Byron Bay Council Placemaking Seed Fund, a catalyst event for the Byron Bay Town Centre Master Plan in 2017 and has since been presented in Railway Park & Denning park in Byron Bay ( 2017), The Plunge Festival in Yamba (2018) and The Playground Festival, Lismore Quad (2019).

Valley Lipcer and the incredible team at Roundabout Theatre were part of Byron Shire Council’s inaugural Byron Bay Town Centre Placemaking Seed Fund. Valley and the team created Pop up Play Spaces, which was a pop up event that was free and fun for all the ‘big’ and ‘little’ kids. It was an all inclusive community event, which was also well loved by visitors. The event was a huge success and the oversized board games, dancing, street theatre, playful signs and obstacle courses showed us how to get back to basics and enjoy some good old fashioned fun!
It was such a pleasure working with Valley, she was extremely professional in the way the event was organised and worked closely with Council staff to ensure all elements of the event were compliant. We look forward to working with Valley again in the future.
Congratulations to you and your team for creating 3 incredible events for the town centre. You brought so much fun and great energy to the town centre and created something amazing for families and ‘big kids’ to enjoy.
